Why OutWith
Built for real experiences, not endless chat.
The product is the experience: posting it, matching for it, showing up, and being accountable afterward.
Experience posting
- Rich description and up to several photos
- Specific time, a window, or flexible
- Group size of one companion or several guests
- Cost: My Treat, Your Treat, 50/50, Free, or a dollar amount
- Friends, families, outdoors, or a +1. Dating-forward stays in After Hours
- Optional visibility of other applicants
- Claim a venue package and post it as your experience
- Say how you’ll choose: connection, similar interests, reliability, first to apply, people you’ve been out with, or best for the group
- Optional premium: take the highest bidder — guests name a price, 15% of the winning bid ($5 min)
- Photos go live after a person reviews them. Family photos are always flagged.
Matching
- Apply to an experience, not a stranger’s face
- Hosts advertise how they’ll pick so nobody is guessing
- Couples may apply as a unit or as individuals
- Families can post and join family experiences
- Either side can disconnect before lock
- Once locked, the experience is no longer public
Trust, as it actually works
- Everyone confirms they are 18
- Photos wait in an admin queue — nothing auto-approves
- A verified badge is two reviewed selfies, not a liveness app or government ID
- Couples can link accounts
- Reliability, reports, and GPS check-in after an experience is locked
Reliability scores
- Host, guest, reliability, and activity — shown separately
- 30-day grace for new members, then activity decays if unused
- Reliability can fall to 1.0; low scores restrict posting and applying
- Recovery is slow: several clean completions per serious hit
- Post-experience questionnaires feed the scores
Discovery
- This-week board — city, tonight/weekend, Friends / Families / Outdoors / +1
- Nearby first, ranked by recency, distance, open spots, and host reliability
- Filters stay prominent — never hidden behind a black-box feed
- Honest empty states when a city is still warming up
- Weber, Davis, and Salt Lake counties are live; Provo, Park City, and Logan stay on the waitlist until density is there
- Go again with someone you’ve already been out with
